Too Quiet For Our Attention
Ecclesiastes Part 11
Curtis Halbesma
Have you ever gotten caught in a conversation with someone at church about Christian behaviour where you just completely disagree with the other person? You go home and “what you should have said” is running through your mind. You hope you can circle back and say what you didn’t before. Further, you slowly start to evaluate the other person’s commitment to Jesus. “If they were a devoted believer, they would not behave the way they are.” Romans 14 has some helpful instruction for us when this happens. He starts with getting us to consider how our words might actually be causing the other believer to stumble in their faith… certainly not the goal we had in mind! Let’s join Curtis as he looks at this passage today.
